Position Overview:

The Commercial Lines Account Manager is responsible for executing key functions of the role, which include supporting the Sales Executive / Account Executive and assisting clients with their service requirements while managing modifications to existing accounts. This role necessitates specific service and marketing responsibilities, encompassing service and sales delivery standards, while performing essential tasks that align with the quality and service benchmarks established by ALKEME Insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Service and Support:

  • Provide expert technical assistance to the Sales Executive/Account Executive, particularly in assessing client needs.
  • Occasionally accompany the Sales Executive/Account Executive during client meetings and prospecting sessions.
  • Coordinate the completion of applications with the Sales Executive/Account Executive, submit them to suitable carriers, and ensure timely receipt of quotations for new and renewal business in accordance with agency protocols.
  • Issue binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and related documents, ensuring their accuracy and timely delivery to clients.
  • Assess whether direct or agency billing is suitable and process invoices accordingly.
  • Prepare comprehensive summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals.
  • Review policy audits for accuracy and facilitate necessary corrections between clients and carriers.
  • Handle incoming mail and phone inquiries, responding promptly and appropriately within company guidelines.
  • Implement agency credit and collection policies in invoicing and follow up on payments.
  • Investigate reasons for cancellation requests, take action to retain accounts, and inform the Sales Executive/Account Executive.
  • Process cancellation requests with carriers to ensure accurate and timely resolutions, maintaining the agency's financial integrity whenever feasible.
  • Assist clients in initiating claims, ensuring prompt responses from carrier representatives, and follow up on claim statuses as per agency procedures.
  • Identify potential exposure to loss and recommend suitable coverages in collaboration with the Sales Executive/Account Executive.
  • Conduct online rating of quotes.
  • Request loss runs and keep the loss run card updated.
  • Maintain accurate and current information in the Applied EPIC system.

Professional Development:

  • Establish priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions and responsibilities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new product developments, legislation, coverages, and technology to enhance knowledge and performance.
  • Utilize effective communication skills, collaborating purposefully and providing information and guidance as necessary to achieve the agency's business objectives.
  • Foster professional, cordial, and effective relationships with clients, colleagues, vendors, and other business contacts.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess a college degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance sector or at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Must hold a valid Property Casualty Broker-Agent license.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to explain complex issues, interpret intricate information, and respond appropriately.
  • Have a solid understanding of insurance products and their applications.
  • Familiarity with insurance markets and their references.
  • Ability to execute complex tasks involving numerous concrete and abstract variables.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk and using a computer.
  • Must be capable of lifting or pulling up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Compensation:

This position offers a salary range of $70,000-$85,000, along with benefits, contingent upon experience and skill level.
