JOB SUMMARY:

Synagro is engaged in the operation of an anaerobic digestion, centrifuge dewatering, thermal drum drying, and pelletization facility. The upcoming Digestion Expansion Project, valued at US $174 million, aims to enhance the facility with the addition of two 2.35-million-gallon anaerobic digesters, two 0.54-million-gallon sludge storage tanks, a Digester Control Building, among other improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish a daily communication channel with the Facility Manager, Owner's Construction Manager, Project Engineer, and Construction Contractor, as necessary.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports to the Project Manager detailing all site activities.
  • Oversee and assess the quality of all construction work undertaken.
  • Track and evaluate the project schedule consistently.
  • Review monthly cost claims and changes, including the evaluation of claimed remeasurement amounts.
  • Maintain comprehensive project records in accordance with Synagro's protocols.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Eligibility to work in the United States and the State of Hawaii.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and passport for potential international travel.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in construction management within a contractor, engineering consultancy, or municipal environment.
  • Proficient in standard office software, particularly MICROSOFT Office, SharePoint, OneDrive, ADOBE Acrobat, and REVU Bluebeam.
  • Expertise in ORACLE Primavera P6 for schedule comparisons, time impact analysis, and high-level summary schedule generation.
  • Ability to navigate construction sites, including rough terrain and heights, while effectively communicating with personnel.
  • Experience in conducting inspections for mechanical, electrical, and SCADA instrumental systems.
  • Commitment to timeliness in all professional matters and a strong desire for continuous learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or an equivalent qualification.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional Engineer registration with the State of Hawaii Board of Professional Engineers, Architects, Surveyors & Landscape Architects.
  • Project Management Professional designation, registered and in good standing with the Project Management Institute.
  • Experience in managing construction contractors and engineering consultants.
  • Ability to oversee bespoke construction, engineering, and operational contracts.
  • Experience working within a wastewater or resource recovery facility.
