Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our team at EAH Housing. As a key member of our real estate development department, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and rehabilitation of affordable housing communities throughout Hawaii.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the identification and securing of new projects, including site acquisition, design, discretionary approvals, and ministerial permitting.
  • Contribute to the preparation and submission of funding applications to various agencies, including the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HHFDC).
  • Prepare and assist with the preparation of funding draws to financial institutions and agencies throughout the various phases of project development.
  • Conduct research and assessments of community assets and needs, and prepare presentation materials as needed for public outreach and engagement.
  • Perform due diligence work on potential sites, including reviewing preliminary title reports, evaluating existing infrastructure, and assessing the ability to obtain entitlements for potential projects.
  • Create and analyze preliminary financial projections for potential transactions, and assess the risk associated with any acquisition.
  • Identify, evaluate, and monitor new and existing funding sources, and remain up-to-date on the status of those sources of funding.
  • Assist in the successful obtaining of public agency approvals and community acceptance of proposed housing projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or Finance.
  • Some related work or field work experience in matters related to affordable housing development, such as residential architecture, finance, planning, construction, etc.
  • Valid Hawaii Driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working at an affordable housing development company.
  • Experience with Hawaii LIHTC transactions, along with familiarity of Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HHFDC).
