Job Summary:

  • The social worker provides medical social casework to patients, ranging from newborns to advanced geriatric patients.
  • The main focus is to assist in meeting the psychosocial/continuum of care needs of patients and families to ensure optimum functioning.
  • Duties include consultation, education, policy and program planning, continuous quality improvement tasks, advocacy, and liaison with the community.
  • The social worker will manage referrals that are significantly high-risk and problem-prone.
  • Duties may include supervision and peer social work consultation.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work is required.
  • Current Social Work license in the state of South Dakota is required.
  • A valid driver's license and insurability by Avera Health's automobile liability insurance carrier are also required.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm; 80hrs/2wks

Pay: The hourly range for this position is $28.75 - $43.50 per hour, dependent on experience.
