Part-Time Seasonal Mosquito Control Specialist

VDCI is seeking a Part-Time Seasonal Mosquito Technician to join our team in the Atlanta, GA area. As a Seasonal Mosquito Technician, you will play a critical role in providing quality, professional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect control zones for potential mosquito breeding habitats and larvae through visual inspection and dipping.
- Assess each inspection site and utilize appropriate control techniques, including source reduction, biological control, public education, and chemical control.
- Place and retrieve monitoring devices to access mosquito populations.
- Accurately record findings and control activities on log sheets and GPS units, and enter data into VDCI's database.
- Be familiar with chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets, and handle/apply chemicals according to label specifications.
- Follow proper safety and spill procedures, and use Personal Protective Equipment regularly.
- Communicate respectfully and honestly with residents during service request inspections and routine larvicide activities.
- Mix pesticides and fill sprayers accurately, and follow safety precautions for product application.
- React to change promptly and effectively, and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Flexibility with working hours, Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Effective communication in English, both written and verbal.
- May be required to obtain state pesticide applicator licensing (training provided).
- Capable of lifting and using items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work is regularly performed outdoors, with potential exposure to hazardous situations and substances.
- Must pass pre-employment background screen and possess a valid driver's license.
