Job Title: Territory Sales Manager

As a Territory Sales Manager at Briggs & Stratton, you will play a critical role in expanding the profitable sale of our products through consultative selling to customers in an assigned territory. Your primary responsibility will be to manage customer expectations through conflict resolution skills, secure customer orders, and effectively communicate, implement, and execute all applicable company programs to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Present sales and marketing programs to secure new and existing orders from customers
  • Develop business partnerships with new and existing customers
  • Maintain a level of service and communication with customers through regular and consistent call cycles
  • Recruit new customers based on market potential and company strategy and objectives
  • Interface with assigned management and support personnel for consistent, open communication, customer support, and implementation of company programs
  • Meet territory goals and objectives based on a business plan, maintaining and revising as necessary
  • Control and reduce selling costs through efficient customer ranking, routing, planning, and expense control
  • Review and analyze sales and marketing data to promote sales, determine customer needs, and provide forecasting information
Requirements:
  • Ability to analyze sales trends to identify alternatives that will maximize sales opportunities
  • Solid knowledge of all Briggs & Stratton products and sales procedures
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups of people
  • Solid computer skills, including understanding of sales software systems, word processing, and spreadsheets
  • Ability to work independently and possess solid organizational skills
  • Desire to continuously improve through training
  • Ability to manage business schedule and territory travel effectively
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a sales or customer service environment
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • Domestic and/or International travel as required up to 50%
  • Able to safely load, secure, and operate a variety of company trailers on a regular basis
  • Valid Driver's License
