Job Summary

INVISTA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Fixed Equipment Engineer to drive Safety, Environmental, and Operational excellence from a corporate level. This strategic, autonomous position will be based out of Houston, TX with up to 50% travel to various plant sites as business needs indicate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a mentor to Site Engineers and Technicians, fostering skill development and expertise in fixed equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Travel to plant sites to conduct hands-on training sessions and workshops, enhancing site capabilities and knowledge base.
  • Partner with site resources and bring subject matter expert level capability to scope plan and execute work when there is an urgent need.
  • Lead by example in the application of critical thinking, engineering calculations, and data analysis for fixed equipment to drive stable and reliable operation.
  • Develop and implement strategic improvements to plant engineering programs, aligned with business goals.
  • Provide expert-level advice, guidance, and challenge for complex engineering, maintenance, or repair challenges, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Collaborate with industry, peers, and business leaders to ensure the fixed equipment inspection strategies and standards are transformed by leveraging emerging technology while maintaining the risk philosophy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Fifteen (15) or more years' experience in a Fixed Equipment Engineering role in a petrochemical plant with transformation and/or leadership experience
  • Willing & able travel up to 50% of the time as business needs indicate
  • Experience mentoring and skills development of other engineers
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • Capability using engineering software to calculate pressure vessel calculations, heat transfer and fluid flow, Fitness for service, Finite Element analysis
