About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Policy Counsel to join our team at the American Coatings Association & PaintCare. As a key member of our Government Affairs department, you will play a critical role in shaping our advocacy efforts on environmental and health regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate on behalf of our industry on environmental and health regulations at the state and federal level.
  • Manage ACA-led industry committees and work with industry professionals to develop advocacy strategies.
  • Conduct regulatory and policy analysis, communicate with stakeholders and agencies, and develop advocacy strategies for potential Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) or state chemicals management issues as well as air quality issues.
  • Interpret federal and state environmental and health regulations and communicate effectively to non-lawyers.
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of experience as an attorney, preferably with experience in regulatory and/or policy advocacy at the local, state, or federal level.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft well-organized, meaningful analyses of laws and regulations as well as comment letters and policy statements.
  • Excellent public speaking skills and ability to testify before regulatory agencies or legislative bodies.
  • Project management skills to manage industry committees.

  • A competitive salary range of $96,000 to $120,000, dependent on experience.
