Job Title: Environmental Policy Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Policy Coordinator to join our team at the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE). As a key member of our National Technical Training Program (NTTP), you will play a critical role in coordinating arrangements for approximately 65 State, Native American, and OSMRE offices that participate in NTTP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating arrangements for NTTP participants
  • Work with course coordinators to ensure the processing of travel documentation in DOI's Travel Management System
  • Conduct market research for hotel, transportation, and supplies procurement
  • Draft and edit informational memorandums and correspondence relating to technical training and all OSMRE training functions
  • Utilize personal computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database software, as well as OSMRE/DOI systems to meet program objectives
  • Screen, review, and process student nominations manually and in DOI's Learning Management System (LMS)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Keen interest in environmental protection, mining, and technical training
