Position Overview

As a Senior Frontend Engineer at FireHydrant, you will take charge of our frontend development team, focusing on the design, implementation, and upkeep of the client-facing aspects of our web application. You will collaborate closely with fellow engineers, product managers, designers, and customer support teams.

Our engineering teams are dedicated to enhancing product quality through an iterative process, ensuring we evolve as an API-first, enterprise-grade Incident Management solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide the frontend team with a strong emphasis on user experience, enhancing our component library, and ensuring a seamless experience for users during critical incidents.
  • Develop new functionalities and sustain our current applications to enrich the incident response process for engineers across various platforms, including mobile, web, and chat.
  • Actively engage in engineering rituals, code evaluations, product demonstrations, and customer feedback discussions to foster ongoing enhancement.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing colleagues to identify user challenges, devise edge cases, and translate requirements into straightforward and well-crafted solutions that address customer needs.
  • Address urgent production escalation matters through a shared on-call schedule, ensuring our systems remain operational when our clients' systems are not.
  • Promote engineering best practices and quality standards among peers and throughout the organization, including mentoring and learning from colleagues while addressing engineering inquiries across departments.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in frontend software development, creating production-level applications using React, React Native, Typescript, and Vite.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects punctually within a remote or hybrid work environment.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of tackling complex challenges and achieving timely results.
  • Setting high standards for user experience that is intuitive and user-friendly in a data-rich application.
  • Commitment to quality - you prioritize writing maintainable code and improving existing systems.
  • Inquisitive nature - you are user-centric and eager to deepen your understanding of our product landscape and end users.
  • Proactive communicator - you take the initiative to resolve issues without needing direction.

Compensation Philosophy

FireHydrant is committed to fair compensation and strives for transparency within our organization and the industry. We establish our salaries at the 75th percentile of compensation for the San Francisco market, utilizing data from numerous companies at our stage. Furthermore, all individuals in a specific role receive equal pay, regardless of location. The salary for this position is $215,000.
