Position Overview
As a Senior Frontend Engineer at FireHydrant, you will take charge of our frontend development team, focusing on the design, construction, and upkeep of the user interface for our web application. You will collaborate closely with fellow engineers, product managers, designers, and customer support teams.
Our engineering teams are dedicated to enhancing product quality through an iterative process, ensuring we create an API-first, enterprise-ready Incident Management solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the frontend development team with an emphasis on user experience, enhancing our component library, and ensuring a seamless experience for users during critical incidents.
- Develop new functionalities and maintain existing applications to optimize the incident response process for engineers across various platforms, including mobile, web, and chat.
- Actively engage in engineering practices such as code reviews, product demonstrations, and customer feedback sessions to foster continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with customer-facing colleagues to identify user challenges, address edge cases, and translate requirements into effective and well-designed solutions.
- Address urgent production issues through a shared on-call rotation, ensuring our systems remain operational when our clients' systems are under duress.
- Promote engineering best practices and quality standards within the team and across the organization, including mentoring peers and addressing engineering inquiries across departments.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in frontend software development, proficient in creating production-level applications using React, React Native, Typescript, and Vite.
- Demonstrated success in delivering projects on schedule within a remote or hybrid work environment.
- Self-motivated individual capable of tackling complex challenges and delivering timely results.
- Commitment to establishing an intuitive and user-friendly experience in data-rich applications.
- Strong focus on quality - you prioritize writing maintainable code and strive to improve existing systems.
- Inquisitive mindset - you are user-centric and eager to deepen your understanding of our product and its users.
- Proactive communicator - you take initiative in problem-solving without needing direction.

Compensation Philosophy
FireHydrant is committed to fair compensation and transparency within our organization and the industry. We set salaries at the 75th percentile for the San Francisco market, utilizing compensation data from numerous companies at our stage. Additionally, all individuals in the same role receive equal pay, regardless of location. The salary for this position is $215,000.
