Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Paraprofessional - Behavior Support to join our team at YAI/iHOPE. As a key member of our school community, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs, providing comprehensive services, and promoting their social, emotional, adaptive, and educational advancement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist assigned students in achieving their academic and behavioral goals, working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
  • Implement individualized IEPs and behavior plans, ensuring the health and safety of students, staff, and others.
  • Provide support for students inside and outside the classroom, enabling them to fully participate in school activities and related services.
  • Assist therapists with related service sessions, transferring and positioning students as needed.
  • Support students with self-care, including using the restroom, basic hygiene, feeding, and other essential tasks.
  • Follow all policies and procedures related to student care and safety, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or coursework in education preferred.
  • One to three years of relevant healthcare, childcare, or school-based experience preferred.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience working in an ABA environment or equivalent role for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate positive behavioral support and understand behavior as communication.
  • Formal training in psychology, sociology, human behavior, mental health, special education, and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred.

Compensation Range
  • $18.31 to $21.41 per hour.
