POSITION TITLE: Talent Acquisition Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

PAY GRADE: 5

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt/Hourly

APPLICATION DEADLINE: To be determined

Compensation: $22.00 to $25.00/hr.

ROLE AND OBJECTIVE:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for researching, developing, and executing effective recruitment and staffing strategies aimed at attracting a diverse array of qualified candidates for the organization. Additionally, this role encompasses various responsibilities associated with Human Resources support as assigned.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Reports to: Human Resources Manager

Supervises: None

Collaborates with: Staff and Vendors

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the recruitment process for new employees, including job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and offer extensions.
  • Ensure timely communication with all applicants regarding their job status and provide feedback to candidates who were interviewed but not selected.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of temporary staff as necessary through existing staffing resources.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and HR colleagues during the offer process, advising on salary ranges, start dates, benefits, and other relevant details.
  • Participate in recruitment events such as job fairs and explore additional sourcing channels as directed.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and files.
  • Order supplies and equipment for the department.
  • Process departmental correspondence and manage HR invoices.
  • Provide backup support for the front desk during breaks and absences.
  • Assist with the annual Open Enrollment process.
  • Support various HR projects as needed.
  • Ensure timely processing of insurance paperwork for new hires and terminations, including changes due to qualifying life events.
  • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes, coordinating with IT for necessary electronic access and equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to devise and implement sourcing strategies for diverse roles.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in recruitment.
  • Proficient in applicant tracking systems and recruitment software.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Commitment to confidentiality at all times.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in recruitment and HR support roles.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Must successfully pass drug and background screenings.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical activities include walking, typing, and handling documents.
  • Physical requirements involve light work, occasionally lifting up to 20 lbs and frequently lifting up to 10 lbs.
