Job Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Machining) plays a crucial role in the engineering processes related to the development of manufacturing methodologies and documentation tailored to fulfill customer requirements. This position demands a profound understanding of intricate and highly technical specifications and drawings associated with customer needs, alongside the capability to translate these concepts into precise work directives for machinists.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Machining), your responsibilities will include:
  • Demonstrated experience in machining processes (such as broaching, milling, turning, EDM, grinding, etc.) specifically with high-temperature alloys.
  • Leading specific projects that necessitate a broad range of expertise.
  • Formulating strategies to ensure that technical specifications, budgets, and timelines are adhered to.
  • Providing critical manufacturing insights by calculating production, labor, and material expenses.
  • Creating and distributing comprehensive work instructions (routers).
  • Coordinating with external organizations and support functions to align efforts in meeting customer expectations.
  • Facilitating communication between customers and machinists to clarify project requirements.
  • Collaborating with management to establish realistic yet challenging objectives.
  • Assisting the Senior Manufacturing Engineer and/or Manager in organizing work activities for the team.
  • Exhibiting self-motivation to devise solutions within reasonable timeframes and budget constraints.
  • Developing innovative solutions under guidance or in a collaborative team environment, or based on established precedents within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, or a high school diploma/GED accompanied by a minimum of 4 years of experience in a machining setting.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the capability to obtain necessary clearance.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience with cutting tools.
  • Familiarity with equipment maintenance.
  • Experience in CNC turning and/or milling programming.
  • Expertise in CAD/CAM software, preferably Unigraphics.
  • Working knowledge of CLM (probing, tool-setting, machining environments).
