Job Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, sourcing, and production of intricate aerospace components and assemblies, focusing on enhancing manufacturability and minimizing costs associated with innovative programs.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties
  • Direct collaboration with Design Engineering to execute "Design for Manufacturability" strategies for new components and assemblies.
  • Deliver comprehensive cost analyses for parts, assemblies, fabrications, and tooling.
  • Support the Supply Chain team in program evaluations to ensure manufacturing factors are prioritized.
  • Engage proactively with operational and internal teams to meet program objectives regarding cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Develop manufacturing timelines and assess supplier workflows.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of industry best practices and collaborate effectively with peers; leverage industry insights to inform decisions on processes and suppliers.
  • Utilize analytical skills to address moderately complex operational challenges in manufacturing, technology, or engineering, applying technical expertise and data analysis to inform recommendations.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced colleagues, potentially leading small-scale projects with moderate risk and resource needs. Communicate complex information effectively and work towards consensus.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, etc.)
  • At least 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
Preferred Attributes
  • Extensive experience in aerospace manufacturing, including conventional and non-conventional machining, fabrication, joining, and inspection.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and inspection techniques.
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrates humility: respectful, open to feedback, adaptable, and eager to learn.
  • Transparent communicator: shares vital information, speaks candidly, and contributes constructively.
