Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team at American SpiralWeld Pipe Company, LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all plannable maintenance work performed within the facility. This is a key role that requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all plannable maintenance work performed within the facility.
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program to minimize unscheduled downtime and extend the life expectancy of equipment.
  • Review all incoming preventative maintenance requests for completeness, accuracy, and nature of work requested.
  • Preplanning and organization of all maintenance outages.
  • Perform audits of completed preventative and corrective maintenance work.
  • Perform database queries of assets and their preventative maintenance schedules and ensure the integrity of the data.
  • Review plans, specifications, etc. to identify assets for inclusion in the preventative maintenance program aimed at improving the turnover of new assets from construction projects.
  • Seek input from Maintenance Manager in developing new maintenance task lists and identify new assets which will be included in the program.
  • Assist supervisors and managers with concerns and problems identified. Modify the preventative maintenance program, where necessary, to improve the level of preventative maintenance.
  • Visit work sites, observe work in progress and constantly review preventative maintenance practices seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct meetings with leadership involved in providing preventative maintenance.
  • Train Operations staff in the proper use of the preventative maintenance system. Develop training materials for the CMMS.
  • Provide field tagging of new and existing assets.
  • Develop asset management workflows to include Problem-Cause-Remedy, equipment classes, and failure types.
  • Respond to requests for new assets or processes to be included in the preventative maintenance program.
  • Able to coordinate/develop relationship with other plant maintenance departments as well as Engineering.
  • Work with existing vendors, seek new vendors, cost analysis comparison as feasible.
Requirements

  • Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, government, and industry representatives.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages and apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate computer skills and have proficient knowledge of computerized maintenance software systems, Microsoft Office & Microsoft Project, especially Excel.
  • Must have the ability to read & understand blueprints: pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical.
  • Must have the ability to work alone in a self-directed environment.
  • Must have experience in communication with all levels of employees in a manufacturing setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with using a computerized maintenance system (CMMS) preferred.
  • Knowledge of JDE/CAM, MaintainX, & AssetWatch software preferred.
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook) preferred.
  • Experience with CAD software preferred.
  • Experience as a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician preferred.
Essential Physical Functions
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
