Maintenance Planner Job Description

The Maintenance Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of equipment at American SpiralWeld Pipe Company, LLC. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive preventative maintenance program that minimizes downtime and maximizes operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all plannable maintenance work within the facility
  • Develop and maintain records and files essential for meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters
  • Manage vendor relationships for parts, supplies, and services
  • Inventory assets and systems for inclusion in the preventative maintenance program
  • Review and ensure completeness of incoming preventative maintenance requests
  • Perform audits of completed preventative and corrective maintenance work
  • Develop and maintain asset management workflows, including problem-cause-remedy, equipment classes, and failure types
Requirements:
  • Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, government, and industry representatives
  • Must have proficient knowledge of computerized maintenance software systems, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project, especially Excel
  • Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints: pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with using a computerized maintenance system (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of JDE/CAM, MaintainX, and AssetWatch software
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook)
  • Experience with CAD software
  • Experience as a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician
