POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating production activities to ensure optimal efficiency and high-quality output. This role is crucial in maintaining production standards, meeting deadlines, and adhering to budgetary constraints. The supervisor will manage the workforce, equipment, and materials necessary for the manufacturing of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a safe, ergonomic, and environmentally responsible workplace that adheres to all relevant regulations and policies.
- Plan, organize, and direct daily operations across various production areas.
- Assess and enhance the performance and efficiency of production processes and staff, including tracking attendance and productivity.
- Ensure execution of schedules and costs align with customer expectations and business objectives.
- Conduct workforce planning and forecasting to meet budgetary goals.
- Provide training, coaching, and motivation to production staff.
- Regularly review production layout and workflow management.
- Identify capital needs and manage overhead costs effectively.
- Guarantee compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Propose and implement improvements and innovations in production methods.
- Lead small teams in problem-solving initiatives or lean improvement events.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proficient in Lean Manufacturing principles with a successful history of applying Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in operations management with a solid understanding of production processes, equipment, and materials.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills with a focus on accountability.
- Ability to adapt and respond to changing production demands and challenges.
- Exhibit flexibility, self-direction, and discipline in achieving objectives and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving, along with strong interpersonal skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work extended hours as necessary to support manufacturing operations.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and to sit or stand for extended periods.
Educational Requirements:
- A minimum of an Associate's degree or higher is required, along with five (5) years of relevant experience, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory role. An advanced degree or related technical experience is advantageous.
