We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Predoctoral Research Associate to join our team at Harvard Business School. The successful candidate will assist faculty members in various research projects, focusing on applied econometrics and microeconomic theory.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain expertise in new research methodologies and techniques.
- Manage and manipulate data using various software packages, including STATA, Python, R, and MATLAB.
- Collect, clean, synthesize, and analyze data, producing statistical models and providing analysis of data exhibits for academic journal articles.
- Develop, synthesize, and provide analysis of literature reviews, as well as provide analysis, editing, and drafts for academic journal articles, HBS cases, and HBS teaching notes.
- Balance project requests from multiple faculty members, using strong communication and prioritization skills.
- Independently manage all timelines and deliverables, exercising independent decision-making with regard to the progression of research projects and methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in economics, mathematics, quantitative sciences, or business-related field required.
- Statistical/programming experience and/or applied experience with Python, STATA, R, or MATLAB.
- Behavioral predoctoral roles require familiarity with qualitative coding and research methods, including tools like Qualtrics and MTurk.
- Additional qualifications and skills include evidence of outstanding academic achievement, indication of independent research experience and/or applied experience, and methodological interests in econometrics, statistics, machine learning, industrial organization, productivity, and economic theory.
