Job Description

Job Summary:

Rotork is seeking a skilled Welder (Contract) to join our team. As a Welder (Contract), you will be responsible for the welding of carbon steel material for cans, brackets, and other products assigned by the production foreman.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize welding-related equipment, including Ox-acetylene torches, spot welding, and portable and fixed electrical welding equipment.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints to produce welds that meet specified requirements.
  • Develop a basic understanding of welding metallurgy and safety rules.
  • Set up equipment according to company specifications and assemble components to weld fixtures.
  • Work effectively under verbal instructions.
  • Operate shop equipment (machines, grinders) with training, and acquire the ability to estimate and order materials related to the welding of company products.
  • Remove, clean, and replace electrodes for painting.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience or equivalent training certification in welding (AWS, ASME, or others).
  • Minimum 1-3 years of welding experience with Shielded Metal Arc Weld (SMAW) & Gas Metal Arc Weld (GMAW).
  • Weld low-carbon steel materials, 1/2" to 3/4" thick in position F1, using 3/8" weld fillets, up to 3 passes.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Ideal formal qualification in welding.
  • Certified or once certified to ASME Section IX or AWS.

Compensation:

$20 - $26/hour.
