Job Title: Senior Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Water & Engineering Technology department. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of complex sanitary sewer and water resource capital improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the development of complex engineering projects, including schedules, budgets, and scopes of work.
  • Approve changes to construction contract provisions, including changes to scope of work, extensions/accelerations of schedules, and changes in methodology, equipment, or control processes.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record on District's Capital Improvement Projects and Local Improvement Districts, reviewing and stamping plans.
  • Provide technical expertise for integrated water resource issues affecting the District, negotiating and resolving significant and controversial issues.
  • Manage system modeling, planning projects, design, and implementation of the District's sanitary and surface water management capital improvement projects.
  • Oversee and/or supervise selection and management of engineering consultant contractors, coordinating work with project stakeholders, government agencies, other District divisions, contractors, and consultants.
  • Develop and implement large-scale planning and modeling efforts.
  • Oversee, organize, assign, and review staff's work, developing performance standards, preparing performance evaluations, and providing coaching and development plans.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of project management experience, including leadership roles and/or staff supervision experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in public involvement and permitting.
  • 5+ years of experience in design and/or construction of major sanitary capital projects, including conveyance systems or sanitary sewer rehabilitation programs.
  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in civil, sanitary, or environmental engineering, water resources engineering, or a related field.
  • Candidates must possess current registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon at time of application or possess current registration as a Professional Engineer in another state and ability to obtain registration in the State of Oregon within six months of hire.
  • Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license.
