Senior Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical and Infrastructure Practice in Portland, OR.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will work directly with clients and our team of experienced engineers and geologists to deliver complex geotechnical projects. Your expertise will be essential in guiding innovative geotechnical designs, executing work through the project lifecycle, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with clients and our team to support a wide variety of geotechnical projects
  • Strategically pursue new clients and opportunities, including proposal preparation and budgeting
  • Oversee and perform geotechnical engineering analyses and calculations, including slope stability analyses and seismic evaluations
  • Prepare and direct the development of written geotechnical reports, working with editing, data, and mapping teams
  • Effectively manage project schedules, scopes of work, and financial aspects, including profitability and invoicing
  • Lead, mentor, and/or supervise junior staff
  • Collaborate with and lead multi-disciplinary project teams, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Develop, coordinate, and oversee construction oversight programs to ensure successful project completion
  • Participate in ongoing education and training opportunities in geotechnical engineering, project management, and consulting
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geological engineering or related field (required)
  • Advanced degree in civil or geological engineering or related field (preferred)
  • Professional Engineer's License (required)
  • At least 8 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel long distances and accommodate occasional overnight travel
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
