Position Details:

We are currently looking for a Senior Manufacturing Cost Analysis Specialist with outstanding organizational and analytical skills to join our team. This position entails collaborating with our accounting department to generate precise financial reports that enhance our financial management and support our operational objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update cost standards for materials and labor, revising existing standards and creating new ones as necessary.
  • Apply Average and Standard Costing methods, effectively utilizing the Absorption Cost Method (Full Costing).
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of Bill of Materials (BOMs), their development, and their significance in cost accounting.
  • Monitor and report on Purchase Price Variance (PPV), Bill Price Variance (BPV), Usage Variance, Labor Variance, and Overhead Variance.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Operations teams to establish costing for new programs and initiatives.
  • Design and implement cost accounting systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Analyze production costs and recommend modifications to improve cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare comprehensive cost of goods sold and production reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct internal cost audits to verify cost accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of changes in goods or services on overall costs.
  • Assess manufacturing operations, equipment availability, and usage to optimize cost efficiency.
  • Manage the month-end cost accounting close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee the cost accounting system and maintain detailed cost ledgers.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses to assess the financial viability of projects throughout their lifecycle.
  • Reconcile inventories of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze and validate inventory valuations to support precise financial reporting.
  • Monitor in-transit inventory to ensure accurate reporting and cost allocation.
  • Safeguard organizational value by maintaining strict confidentiality of financial information.
  • Collaborate with team members, taking on additional responsibilities and tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems; experience with NetSuite is advantageous.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the complete accounting and production cycle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with independent judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with various organizational levels.
