The Diabetes, Obesity, and Complications Therapeutic Area (DOCTA) at Eli Lilly and Company is dedicated to the advancement of biologic, small molecule, and genetic therapies for diabetes, obesity, and related complications. We are on the lookout for a talented and driven research associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will engage in a research initiative aimed at constructing a comprehensive cross-species transcriptomics atlas of feeding centers in the brain, which will enhance our understanding of the molecular pathways essential for energy balance regulation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and process biological samples for bulk, snRNASeq, and spatial transcriptomics from selected mouse and human brain regions, considering various metabolic states.
  • Independently design and execute bulk, snRNASeq, and spatial transcriptomics studies and analyses.
  • Conduct RNAScope and immunohistochemistry experiments.
  • Work autonomously while also collaborating within a team-oriented laboratory environment and across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Foster a vibrant postdoctoral culture at Eli Lilly by sharing research progress in internal meetings, presenting findings at national conferences, and publishing in esteemed, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Maintain meticulous records, perform independent data analysis, and communicate findings effectively in both written and oral formats, ensuring compliance with Eli Lilly Research Policies and completing all necessary training.

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD in biology, neuroscience, or a related discipline.

  • A self-motivated individual eager to acquire new techniques while consistently pursuing research and publication objectives.
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) with experience in presentations and a solid publication history.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
