Postdoctoral Researcher in Environmental Science

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our research group at Harvard University's John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The successful candidate will investigate connections between ice/ocean interactions, freshwater export from Greenland's glacial fjords, and the oceanography of the Southwest Greenland shelf as part of the Overturning in the Subpolar North Atlantic Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in physical oceanography, focusing on ice/ocean interactions and freshwater export from Greenland's glacial fjords.
  • Work closely with Professor Fiamma Straneo and her team to analyze data and develop research projects.
  • Engage in the planning and execution of fieldwork, and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography or a related field by the time of appointment.
  • Experience in analyzing hydrographic, velocity, and other oceanographic data.
  • Expertise in collecting field observations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
