Job Title: Chef Manager

Thomas Cuisine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to join our team. As a key leadership position, the Chef Manager will be responsible for the successful operation of the Food and Nutrition Department in an eating recovery center.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, food service management, and leadership. They will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the kitchen area, implementing production processes, and managing food and labor costs. Additionally, they will be responsible for developing, mentoring, and coaching internal associates.

The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service. They will be a strong communicator and team player, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the kitchen area
  • Implement production processes
  • Manage food and labor costs
  • Develop, mentor, and coach internal associates
  • Implement systematic production methods
  • Standardize recipes
  • Portion control
  • Menu development and purchasing requirements

Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree in Culinary Arts, Food Services Technology/Management, or related field
  • Minimum of three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
  • Extensive catering experience a plus
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
  • Scratch cooking experiences
  • Hands-on chef experience a must
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail, and the Internet
  • Must be willing to participate in patient satisfaction programs/activities
  • ServSafe certified - highly desirable
