Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist - Certified Hand Therapist to join our team at Eastern Connecticut Health Network. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and treatment plans to patients with hand and upper extremity disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients to determine the extent of their hand and upper extremity disorders and develop individualized treatment plans to improve or restore function.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Administer various treatments, including physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques, to relieve pain and improve function.
  • Develop and implement home exercise programs and functional activities to maximize independent functional activity.
  • Document patient progress and treatment plans in accordance with insurance guidelines and departmental policies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care and treatment.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in hand and upper extremity therapy.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy with a minimum of a B.S.
  • Current Connecticut license and certification as a Certified Hand Therapist.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Windows-based programs.
