Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as primary contact with clients, managing day-to-day operations with team members
  • Reviews and maintains accounting checklists to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing reports, and identifying trends
  • Looks for opportunities to improve client accounting processes, including software automation and process optimization
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information and maintaining accurate records
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options and providing expert advice
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents and ensuring compliance with internal controls
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Secures financial information by completing database backups and maintaining confidentiality
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
  • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends

Requirements/Experience:

  • 3+ years full-cycle accounting experience
  • Non-profit entity experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to service clients and provide excellent customer service
  • Microsoft Dynamics SL experience preferred
  • QuickBooks experience required
  • Sage, Great Plains, and/or SAGE experience preferred
  • Accounting degree preferred
  • Strong ability to review financials and identify trends
  • Inventory/Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Technically savvy, able to learn new software and software integration experience strongly preferred
