Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Mechanic I with Albany County Water Purification District, you will perform semi-skilled and routine manual work in maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and equipment in a Type 4A sewage treatment facility. This role involves working under the supervision of a higher-ranking department employee, with occasional independent work on less complex tasks. You will also oversee the work of laborers or subordinate staff as required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment and systems

Requirements:

• Graduation from high school or equivalent
• One year of experience in the maintenance of mechanical equipment or completion of Albany County Water Purification District Apprenticeship Program
• Eligibility for and possession of a valid New York State driver's license

Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to mechanical equipment and systems. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of weather conditions. A valid New York State driver's license is required for this position.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $44,874—$47,737 per year. Benefits include paid time-off, tuition reimbursement, NYS retirement, health, dental, vision, and hearing coverage, and an employee assistance program.
