Job Summary:

TEL is seeking a skilled Equipment Engineer to join our team. As an Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading equipment to evaluate next-generation processes in the semiconductor industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site installation, troubleshooting, service, and repair of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Upgrade and modify equipment as needed.
  • Order and install parts, maintain inventory of spare parts.
  • Use technical writing skills to create Operating Procedures.
  • Interface with external vendors on outsourced products and services.
  • Handle contaminated parts with appropriate PPE to rebuild reactors when implementing new modifications.
  • Handle chemical ampoules independently after being trained by senior engineers.
  • Complete on-board orientation, safety training, and other company and site required training.
  • Work independently on several projects.
  • Write up weekly passdown on all projects including progress, gaps, timelines, and needed parts.

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or related work experience; completion of military technical training and field experience may substitute for an Associate's Degree.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Able to read and create electrical diagrams.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge in any of the following: pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
  • Project Management training recommended.

Working Conditions:

Job duties are often performed in small, confined areas in a clean room environment, in stretched awkward positions and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds is required. May require the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Duties also include application of proper industry safety procedures when working with dangerous elements or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents, or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Occasional travel to TEL factories, training facilities, and customer locations may be required. Job duties may require walking up to and in excess of 10,000 steps and walking up and down multiple flights of stairs per shift.
