Job Overview

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking a visionary Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning Group Leader / Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team in the Puget Sound Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver technical work for the Puget Sound Smart Mobility team.
  • Mentor and train junior and mid-level staff on career development, project management, and technical expertise.
  • Foster a functional, efficient, and enjoyable work environment as part of the Puget Sound leadership team.
  • Manage performance, including time off, timecards, expense reports, and training approvals.
  • Collaborate with Smart Mobility Group Leaders across DEA's diverse business units to fulfill project and business development opportunities.
  • Drive successful recruitment and retention efforts to ensure DEA hires and retains top talent.
  • Learn client standards and expectations, identify new business opportunities, and provide inputs for scopes, schedules, and budgets.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License for engineers or AICP Certification for planners (preferred but not necessary).
  • 8-12 years of professional experience in engineering or planning, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or project management role.
  • Proven leadership experience in providing feedback, coaching, and team management.
  • Strong ability to generate work, manage transportation projects, lead a team, and perform technical QA.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
