Job Title: Graduate Transportation Engineer Intern

Alaska Airlines is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Transportation Engineer Intern to join our team. As a Graduate Transportation Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that impact our guests and business.

About the Role

This internship is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in transportation engineering systems. You will work on a technical research project to understand and measure the revenue impact of diverse strategic business initiatives in a constrained transportation network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research using state-of-the-art airline revenue management, schedule, and customer behavior simulation tools.
  • Develop and apply object-oriented programming skills in Python to analyze and visualize data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide analytical support and relevant data to stakeholders.
  • Foster strong working relationships across workgroups and develop the ability to independently develop structured project plans.
Requirements
  • Pursuing a graduate degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Transportation Engineering Systems.
  • Familiarity with PassengerSim software and experience conducting simulation research within the airline industry domain.
  • Experience working at an airline and in-depth knowledge of North American carriers' networks.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
