Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. As a Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in improving the quality and production yield of precision target assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team in the design, development, and implementation of chemical and mechanical processes for fabricating and assembling precision target assemblies.
  • Develop and maintain production models, metrics, and analysis to guide process investments.
  • Analyze complex data from target production to improve processes and production yields.
  • Collaborate with the Target Engineering, Target Science and Technology, and Target Production teams to optimize overall effectiveness.
  • Prepare written analyses and verbal briefings to communicate research results and progress reports.

Requirements:

  • BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant leadership skills in chemical, materials science, or mechanical process engineering of complex products.
  • Experience in schedule-driven, pilot-plant-scale operations and process development.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative research environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Expert-level experience applying chemical engineering principles to achieve process development and process improvement goals.
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate in a team environment.
