Key Responsibilities
  • Decontamination and Sterilization: Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies, and equipment to ensure they are safe for use in patient care.
  • Instrument Assembly and Wrapping: Assemble, wrap, and sterilize trays of instruments to prepare them for use in the operating room.
  • Inventory Management: Restock, label, and maintain inventory levels of instruments, trays, and medical equipment.
  • Environmental Maintenance: Perform environmental maintenance duties to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Quality Control: Monitor biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency in the decontamination process.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to sterile processing customers by ensuring timely delivery of processed instruments and equipment.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum one year of current hospital experience in sterile processing or a related field.
  • Skills: Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; ability to write legibly; and ability to lift/push/pull greater than 100 pounds.
