Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Policy and Legislative Manager to join our team. This is a full-time position that will play a critical role in shaping our organization's policy and legislative agenda.
Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is $93,000-$123,000 based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policy and legislative strategies to advance HACLA's goals and objectives.
- Monitor and analyze local, state, and federal policies and legislation affecting affordable housing and community development.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including elected officials, government agencies, and community organizations.
- Research and conduct policy analysis, preparing reports and recommendations for senior management and the Board of Commissioners.
- Represent HACLA at meetings and conferences, providing expert testimony and presentations on policy and legislative issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement effective communication strategies and materials.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as public policy, urban planning, or business administration.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in policy development, legislative affairs, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and writing skills, with ability to communicate complex information effectively.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working in affordable housing or community development.
- Knowledge of geospatial analysis and data visualization tools.
- Fluency in scripting languages and/or quantitative data analysis programs.
