Electromechanical Equipment Rewinder Job Description

At The Timken Company, we're seeking a skilled Electromechanical Equipment Rewinder to join our team. As a key member of our Service Center Operations, you'll play a crucial role in rewinding various types of electro-mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Documenting and Rewinding: Accurately document all relevant data specific to unit's electro-magnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage or intended serviceability, and rewind various electro-mechanical equipment, including single phase, three-phase, dc fields, armatures, wound rotors, and transformers.
  • Insulating Techniques: Observe proper insulating techniques and/or requirements during rewinding.
  • Paperwork and Equipment Operation: Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis, and operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including winding machines, test panels, surge testers, core-loss testers, cut-off saws, burnout ovens, grinders, cranes, forklift trucks, brazing units, dip tanks, VPI systems, and various hand-held power and non-power tools.
  • Safety and Organization: Observe all safety procedures and policies, use proper protective equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
  • Technical Skills: Experience making and installing random/must wound coils, form wound coils, brake coils, low/medium/high voltage A/C stators and rotors, and ability to complete test and inspection documents and shop traveler for safety-related and augmented quality jobs.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to walk, stand, climb, lift up to 50 pounds, see, hear, and use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Education and Experience: High school degree or equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience.
