Job Title: Power Generation Workshop Technician

We are seeking a skilled Power Generation Workshop Technician to join our team at Cummins. As a key member of our Distribution Business in Kearney, NE, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our power generation equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Develop and maintain productive customer relationships, providing prompt and courteous attention to customer needs.
  • Apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
  • Assist with completion of required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality forms.
  • Complete training in line with skill and business requirements, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all meaningful Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues or incidents to your supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities, with a strong understanding of power generation products.
  • High Voltage/Low Voltage experience, with the ability to perform electrical repairs and maintenance with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of working on power generation products with hands-on experience, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Entry-level candidates will be primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators, with basic diesel engine experience.
  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.
Qualifications:
  • A current valid license is required for this role.
  • This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations.
  • This role requires the applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
  • 3 years of driving experience.
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations, including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.
  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older; the applicant must be 21 years of age.
