The Goddard School of Watertown is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Education Lead to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, advancing physical and intellectual competence, and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Plan and implement engaging and challenging curriculum that meets the needs of our young learners.
- Child Development: Advance physical and intellectual competence by adapting program activities to meet the individual needs of the children.
- Communication: Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Guidance and Support: Provide positive guidance and support to promote social and emotional development in our children.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain positive relationships with families to ensure a strong partnership in our children's education.
- Program Management: Ensure a well-run program by developing lesson plans, building teamwork, and implementing Goddard's Health & Safety procedures.
Requirements:
- A 2 or 4-year degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (current enrollment in pursuit of a degree will be considered).
- Minimum of 18 ECE credits.
- EEC Certification preferred (we will work with you to obtain certification).
- Ability to work between the hours of 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
General Qualifications:
- Meet state qualifications and national hiring standards.
- Ability to hear conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid.
- Ability to see and read newsprint, with or without corrective lenses.
- Ability to speak and be understood under normal circumstances.
- Ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to use arms, hands, legs, and feet, with or without corrective devices.
- Ability to handle crisis situations, especially where children are involved.
- Ability to respond immediately to emergency situations.
