About the AI-Enhanced Discovery and Decisions Department

The AI-Enhanced Discovery and Decisions Department within the Artificial Intelligence and Autonomy Innovation Center is seeking a qualified Group Leader to lead an innovative team of engineers focused on developing technologies and solutions for sponsor needs and creating a safer world.

Key Responsibilities of the Group Leader
  • Act as the first-line technical leader, ensuring the rigor and technical quality of products delivered to our customers.
  • Contribute to one or more projects and serve as the primary point of contact on HR matters for the technical staff in their Group.
  • Lead their respective group, ensuring high technical quality and timely delivery of products to internal and external customers.
Requirements for the Group Leader Position
  • Minimum of 10 years of AI-enhanced decision making experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 8 years and a Master's degree, or a PhD with 5 years' experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Demonstrated technical depth in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, large language models, decision science, human machine teaming, cognitive science, AI testing and evaluation, multi-agent systems, knowledge-based reasoning, automated planning, semantics, and ontologies.
  • Practical understanding of AI-enhanced decision support across different domains (DoD, Services, Intelligence Community, DHS, Industry, and Academia).
  • Ability to articulate specific challenges for AI-enhanced decision making and knowledge discovery, discuss critical issues, and identify gaps.
  • Ability to obtain a US Government clearance (e.g. DoD Secret).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of advances in AI-enhanced decision support capabilities in industry and academia.
  • Work and/or leadership of teams to implement and evaluate AI-enhanced decision systems.
