Job Title: Ultrasound Systems Engineer

Rivanna Medical, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our R&D-focused engineering group, you will be responsible for developing new imaging algorithms and optimizing imaging performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and test imaging-related subsystems of intermediate to high complexity.
  • Improve ultrasound imaging performance by applying acoustic and signal processing theory, including machine learning and deep learning techniques.
  • Collaborate with software developers to develop product-level algorithm implementation based on user requirements.
  • Work with clinicians and sonographers to optimize image quality and develop software tools for image optimization.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and promote a high-performance, collaborative culture.
Clinical R&D:
  • Collaborate with Rivanna Medical Inc.'s clinical group to execute aspects of upcoming pilot trials and clinical trials.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project completion.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and publications resulting from clinical data.
Requirements:
  • PhD in an Engineering degree with a focus on biomedical imaging and signal processing.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in research and/or product development, ideally in the field of ultrasound.
  • Strong technical background in coding languages relevant to prototyping ultrasound signal processing (Python, MATLAB, C++/C#, AI/ML environments).
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully contributing to requirements of a medical device with complex requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a track record of analyzing complex issues and implementing effective solutions.
