Overview

Dartmouth Health Children's and The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seek a faculty member to join the Ken & Vickie French Child Advocacy and Protection Program (CAPP). The ideal candidate will be a board-certified child abuse pediatrician, but we welcome general pediatricians or pediatric specialists with experience or strong interest in caring for children and adolescents at risk of abuse or neglect.

Program Overview

CAPP is a trauma-informed multidisciplinary program providing comprehensive assessment and care for children suspected of experiencing child maltreatment residing in Northern New England. Our patient services include robust outpatient clinics, hospital-based inpatient consults, and an on-call triage system for the region.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care for children and adolescents at risk of abuse or neglect
  • Participate in consultation and training for Dartmouth Health Children's faculty and residents, Child Advocacy Centers, Child Protection Services, Law Enforcement, Prosecution, and other community stakeholders
  • Engage in advocacy from institutional to statewide legislation
  • Teach pediatric residents and medical students

Requirements

  • Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification by American Academy of Pediatrics (to be obtained within 5 years) in General Pediatrics
  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the state of New Hampshire
