The Medical Assistant - Clinical Support will play a vital role in the success of our team at Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group. This individual will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring a seamless patient experience.
Key Responsibilities- Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule and coordinate clinic appointments, follow-up appointments, pre-op or post-op appointments, and surgeries as required.
- Communication and Patient Care: Interact with patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner, answering questions regarding appointments, testing, and surgery.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Document patient care services by charting in patient records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date information.
- Administrative Support: Answer telephone calls, respond to voice mails, take messages, and provide appropriate information to callers.
- Equipment and Supply Management: Set up and clean equipment or instruments according to departmental protocol, order, sort, stock, and restock medical supplies in exam/procedure rooms.
- Quality and Safety: Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, respecting and promoting patient rights.
- Specialized Tasks: Assist physicians with injections, casting, removal of casting or splints, and other procedures as needed or directed, order X-Rays and DME as directed by providers, maintain outgoing referrals.
- Education and Experience: Certificate from college or technical school, three to six months related experience and/or training, certified and registered with AMT, maintain current CPR certificate.
