We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Retail Operations Manager to join our team at Whole Foods Market. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have 18+ months of retail experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience. You will lead and develop Team Members, ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times.

This is a full-time position that requires standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday. You must be able to lift 50 pounds and handle knives and other cutting equipment. Additionally, you will be required to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising.
  • Work with the Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
  • Assist the Team Leader in analyzing sales reports and labor data.
  • Contribute to the development of annual sales and expense projections and budget preparation.
  • Assist the Team Leader with ordering and inventory management.
  • Resolve team concerns or issues, working closely with the Team Leader.
  • Serve as the point person and departmental leader in the absence of the Team Leader.
  • Foster a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
  • Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, directing Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
