Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team at Pups at Play in Livingston, NJ. As an Animal Care Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, happiness, and well-being of our pet guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sanitation and Cleaning: Sanitize and disinfect pet enclosures and general boarding areas to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • Pet Care: Provide clean bedding and fresh water to each pet guest, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Food and Water Management: Ensure that each pet receives the correct type and quantity of food for each meal, and that they have access to clean water at all times.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and accurately chart consumption and elimination of each pet guest, and report any issues or concerns to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Pet Safety and Well-being: Visually check pet guests for safety and well-being throughout the day, and take action to address any concerns.
  • Excrement Removal: Check and pick up excrement from enclosures and other areas as needed throughout the day.
  • Pet Belongings: Monitor pet belongings, clean them as needed, and ensure their return to owners.
  • Food Preparation Areas: Maintain and clean food preparation areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Pet Bedding and Towels: Perform daily laundering of pet bedding and towels to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
Requirements
  • Expertise and Experience: Must be a pet fanatic, with a passion for animal care and a professional manner at all times.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be able to lift 40 pounds, stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
  • Working Environment: Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions.
