Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to supervise craft employees and ensure projects are safely completed on time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil infrastructure and marine infrastructure, with experience in managing multiple crews across various construction scopes.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the crew(s) and craft workers in the application of all projects.
  • Manage the performance of productivity, safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
  • Collaborate with engineers, Job teams, etc. to determine project needs.
  • Utilize equipment, material, and labor to maximize production and minimize costs in assigned responsibility.
  • Set performance goals and deadlines.
  • Coordinate and interface effectively with superintendents and Foreman to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
  • Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate.
  • Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor needs, material quantities, equipment requirements, etc.
  • Keep track of material stock and orders.
  • Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards as reflected in Company's non-harassment and nondiscrimination policies.
  • Perform additional ad hoc assignments per management's direction.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience in the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Must have experience and professional knowledge of heavy civil infrastructure, marine infrastructure is preferred.
  • Ideal candidate will have project experience with ports, docks, wharves, piers, bridges or other waterfront structures.
  • Must be able to run multiple crews across various construction scopes.
  • Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance.
  • General computer skills required, Microsoft Office proficiency (Word and Excel).
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience with cranes is preferred.
  • Must have ability to manage and inspire others.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.

Base Compensation

$115,000/yr - $165,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
