Immigration Services Operations Analyst

This role is situated within the Field Operations Directorate, specifically in the Office of Field Operations. As an Immigration Services Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to support both the operational and administrative aspects of USCIS activities, alongside conducting research and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
The duties outlined below pertain to the full performance level. At developmental stages, tasks will be more limited in scope and executed with less autonomy and complexity:
1. Plan and execute various management initiatives or activities that influence operational functions.
2. Oversee operational tasks to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
3. Facilitate training sessions for USCIS personnel on standardized protocols and procedures relevant to their roles.
4. Address case-specific inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders, including different USCIS divisions, contractors, and governmental entities.
5. Conduct thorough research and analysis of USCIS records and databases to extract relevant information regarding cases, policies, procedures, trends, evaluations, and other pertinent issues to resolve case-specific challenges.
6. Collaborate with Adjudications Personnel to address concerns related to pending or finalized applications and petitions.
7. Coordinate and implement management information systems that align with long-term and short-term objectives, policies, and programs as dictated by statutes, executive orders, and supervisory directives.
8. Prepare and deliver both verbal and written technical guidance, information, and support to various USCIS management staff concerning the application of management systems and programs.
9. Perform data queries, validate and analyze data, and generate reports for management regarding program components.
Employment Conditions
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following conditions:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- Successfully complete a background investigation, including financial disclosure.
- Pass a drug screening.
- Submit a resume and relevant documentation.
- Males born after a specific date must be registered with the Selective Service.
- This position is included in the bargaining unit and is not deemed essential for reporting to work during facility closures.
Residency Requirement
Applicants not currently employed by USCIS must have resided in the United States for three of the last five years prior to applying, or have worked for the U.S. Government overseas, or been a dependent of a U.S. Federal or Military employee serving abroad.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the specified qualifications by the deadline. Relevant experience or education is required at various grade levels, including:
- GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07, or a Master's degree or two years of graduate education.
- GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09, or a doctoral degree or three years of progressively higher-level graduate education.
- GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11.
