Position Overview


The primary objective of this role is to assist in the creation of quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements that serve various stakeholders including management, partners, lenders, and external agencies.

Additionally, this position involves executing diverse reporting responsibilities for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data both internally for Sempra Infrastructure and externally for partners, encompassing financial analysis and necessary metrics for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities


- Prepare quarterly unaudited and annually audited financial statements, ensuring the inclusion of complex disclosure information for Sempra Infrastructure's management and partners.

- Collaborate with professionals across multiple departments, including Tax, Accounting Research, and Accounting.

- Review, analyze, and assess quarterly and annual financial data and reports, including workpapers and supporting documentation prepared by staff for Sempra Infrastructure Partners.

- Examine monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information, providing analysis and reporting on various metrics in line with the Limited Partnership Agreement.

- Generate additional ad hoc reports as requested by partners.

- Prepare and present quarterly and annual financial information to support internal reporting and compliance with regulatory filings.

- Leverage expertise to execute Sempra Infrastructure's financial reporting strategy, standards, processes, and procedures, ensuring adherence to SOX and internal controls.

- Implement and enhance innovative automated accounting reporting tools and processes.

- Undertake other duties as assigned, limited to 5% of total responsibilities.

Qualifications


Required:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in public or professional accounting or equivalent training.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting and reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of accounting systems and internal controls; experience with HFM and MAX is advantageous.
  • Experience with automated reporting systems; Workiva experience is a plus.
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.
  • Capacity to process transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvements.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision required.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with U.S. GAAP.
  • Background in the energy sector.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
