Position Overview
You will take on the role of a Civil Engineer, focusing on assignments designed to enhance your expertise and provide hands-on civil engineering experience.

Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include assisting senior civil engineers in a range of engineering tasks related to the planning and design phases, as well as engineering management services for various projects including design, construction, and maintenance.

Essential Duties
As a Civil Engineer, you will:

  • Engage in practical assignments aimed at skill development.
  • Support senior engineers in diverse engineering tasks.
  • Contribute to the planning and design processes.
  • Assist in management services for construction and sustainment projects.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Applicants must fulfill the Mandatory Education Requirement for the engineering series. This includes:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program.

Specialized Experience
To assess eligibility for different grades, applicants should review the specific experience requirements. For example:

  • GS-07: Experience in supporting higher-level civil engineers in project planning and design.
  • GS-09: Experience in monitoring and improving program execution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Your qualifications will be evaluated based on your knowledge and skills in:

  • Civil Engineering principles and practices.
  • Effective oral and written communication.

All relevant experience, including volunteer work, will be credited towards your qualifications.
