About the Position

We are in search of a seasoned lead engineer to enhance our platform team's initiatives aimed at expediting our product development processes through the construction of next-generation infrastructure and automation systems. This specialized team, known as the "Cloud Experience" team, addresses the increasing complexity and challenges associated with managing diverse cloud solutions as technology evolves. Our goal is to establish robust abstractions atop our cloud services, enabling product development teams to concentrate on creating exceptional healthcare experiences for our users without the distraction of managing intricate configurations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with product development teams to identify and alleviate challenges related to our cloud technologies.
  • Analyze and resolve bottlenecks in our release cycles to enhance product delivery through automation and best practices.
  • Guide and mentor teams on the latest cloud technologies to ensure they select the most suitable tools for their projects.
  • Innovate and refine our internal tools to improve the overall product development lifecycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in managing AWS-based infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with NGINX, Fastly, and Fastly VCL (Varnish Configuration Language).
  • Minimum of 3 years working within a production-grade Kubernetes environment.
  • Familiarity with CDN and edge technologies.
  • Experience with Docker in both development and production settings.
  • Proficient in utilizing Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code technologies.
  • Background in traditional product development lifecycles to empathize with fellow software engineers.
  • Experience implementing observability tools (e.g., metrics, logs, tracing) using platforms like Datadog, Sumo Logic, Grafana, and Sentry.
  • Ability to develop internal or external tools using GoLang or Typescript.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
