Key Responsibilities

  • Working under the continuous guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, the Behavioral Support Technician is tasked with the daily execution of individualized or group behavior-analytic interventions for children experiencing behavioral issues, tailored to specific program needs.
  • This role may involve assisting the BCBA in training other personnel or interns on the application of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques.
  • Accountable for the implementation of personalized treatment strategies aimed at enhancing functional abilities and mitigating challenging behaviors that hinder educational progress.
  • Maintains comprehensive records on program metrics and targeted behaviors to support program evaluations and progress assessments.
  • Responsibilities include preparing activities, providing direct care and instruction to individuals or groups, utilizing evidence-based methods and teaching approaches, collecting and analyzing data, and documenting session outcomes.
  • The Technician may support the BCBA with training, conducting behavioral assessments, and tracking client development.
  • Ensures adherence to national, state, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Physical demands may include lifting or moving items weighing up to approximately 50 lbs and maintaining various postures (e.g., kneeling, squatting, sitting, standing, walking) for extended durations. Performs related tasks as necessary.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, behavioral science, or a related discipline, along with Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental challenges is preferred.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess reliable transportation, and successfully complete a background screening.
